Martin van der Poel
Martin van der Poel CA(SA) has almost 20 years’ experience in the financial industry; advising clients on structuring transactions and designing investments and strategic growth strategies. Martin brings the full resources and networks of Samuel Kennedy Investments, a company he founded in 2010 as a niche corporate advisory and proprietary investment business, to the SKI BEE Solutions’ team. Martin is actively involved in various proprietary investments with its main focus on private company investments within the South African mid-market environment. Martin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. After serving his articles at KPMG he joined their Corporate Finance Department and gained experience in forensic accounting, mergers & acquisitions, privatisations, valuations, due diligence reviews, stock exchange compliance work and financial modeling, both with local and international clients. In 2001, he headed up the mergers & acquisitions, legal, risk management and internal audit departments at a listed ICT company, where he concluded acquisitions, negotiated large ICT outsourcing agreements and established the group risk management function and group internal audit functions. In 2007 Martin joined Routledge Modise Inc. as Director of the Corporate Finance Department with the main objective to provide clients with a wider array of services by integrating the commercial, legal and traditional corporate finance services.
(B.Iuris, LLB, CFP & Adv. Dip FMI) is an admitted advocate and worked as a legal advisor in the financial services industry for 18 years. He has an extensive knowledge in fiduciary services which fits in perfectly with long-term ownership solutions. He established Ambassador Trust in 2001 to offer all fiduciary services, including registration and administration requirements to set up and maintain the ideal ownership structures.
Martin and Fritz joined forces in 2014 to combine their accounting and legal skills. Since then the traditional word-of-mouth approach has contributed extensively towards their success.
